Hugh McCAMBRIDGE Engineer, entombed in rockfall whilst building railway line at Ballymena

Hi

Greetings from NSW Australia

Hugh married c 1840 in Kirkrionla R/Church..  Details of his birth are not known.

Hugh's son Charles James (no other information known apart from the fact he was also supposed to have been an engineer), had the inevitable task of running home to tell his mum Mary McCAMBRIDGE (nee O'HAGAN) of the tragedy. They resided in Ballymena.    I have searched digitised Irish newspapers in the hope there was an article written about his death without success and have never been able to find where he was buried.

Can anyone provide assistance?  The line died out with Hugh and his son Charles but Hugh's daughters (Jane and Rose) and his widow emigrated to NSW Australia where descendants live to this day.

Kind regards

Cherylanne
